/// PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ProXtend is an intra-workout drink which can be taken immediately before or during your training. ProXtend consists of a strategic mix of carbohydrates and a massive dose of BCAAs, l-glutamine, l-citrulline malate, vitamins and electrolytes. It’s a multifunctional instant drink, designed for both endurance and power athletes.

The advantages for Endurance athletes (Performance Drink):

Maltodextrin carbohydrates deliver fast energy at the moment you need to replenish glycogen stores during intensive training. L-Citrulline Malate helps to reduce ammonia and lactic acid levels (substances produced by the body during intensive workouts) allowing you to workout longer and more intensive. Citrulline malate also improves aerobic capacity. L-Glutamine was added to the formula in order to compensate the large quantity of glutamine your muscles consume during an intensive workout. Glutamine levels need to be replenished as quickly as possible, not only in order to prevent muscle breakdown but also because glutamine is the most important fuel source for your immune system, which can be under great stress during long and intensive workouts.⁽¹⁾ BCAAs are another essential ingredient in this formula. If the body is short of carbohydrates during intensive workouts, BCAAs can be converted in the liver into glucose providing energy. During heavy and long physical efforts, up to 15% of the total energy supply can be provided by BCAAs. Therefore, you need to replenish the BCAA levels in order to prevent muscle breakdown. In addition, BCAA supplements increase the performance period of long distance runners by 16%.⁽¹⁾

The advantages for  Power athletes (Intra-Workout Drink):

ProXtend also is an Intra-Workout Drink that maximizes muscle building during your workout by making efficient use of the blood supply to the trained muscle. The human body pumps 15 to 20 times more blood to the muscles during workout than at rest. Our blood is the transport system that transports all important nutrients to the muscles in order to make them grow and recover in the best possible circumstances. The more nutrients are pumped to your muscles, the better muscle breakdown can be avoided and the quicker the muscle grows. The best moment to provide the muscles with these vital nutrients is during workout when blood supply is at its highest!

/// RECOMMENDED USE

1 serving = Mix 3 scoops (42g) with 300ml of water. Take 1 serving before, during or after your workout.

/// ACTIVE INGREDIENTS PER SERVING (42g)

Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin is easily digested and converted to energy making it an ideal ingredient for sports drinks. Similar to other carbohydrates, maltodextrin decreases glycogen breakdown during long-duration exercise.⁽²⁾ When combined with protein, maltodextrins can enhance glycogen recovery and stimulate muscle protein synthesis after exercise.⁽³⁾ It increases your training intensity and improves your force, resistance and stamina. Each serving contains 28g maltodextrin.

L-Citrulline Malate

L-citrulline malate is a salt form of the amino acid L-citrulline which plays a vital role in the NO-balance and other metabolic processes. L-citrulline malate improves oxygen balance within the muscle cells⁽⁴⁾, increases the reuse of lactic acid for energy production⁽⁵⁾ and stimulates aerobic ATP-production. It also significantly reduces fatigue and increases aerobic performance.⁽⁶⁾ L-citrulline malate increases the synthesis of phosphorus creatine by 20% which means you will recover more quickly in between power lifting sessions, making it possible for your muscles to grow faster. Each serving contains 2g l-citrulline malate.

L-Glutamine

L-glutamine is considered a semi-essential amino acid because in certain circumstances the human body cannot produce enough of it to meet the needs of sportsmen and women. L-glutamine is the most common amino acid in the blood and muscular tissue and it contributes to numerous physiological processes in the human body.⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾⁽⁹⁾ L-glutamine has an anti-catabolic effect and stimulates accelerated muscle recovery after the training.⁽¹⁰⁾ In addition, glutamine is a powerful anti-oxidant: people who use it also have a better resistance to colds.⁽¹¹⁾⁽¹²⁾ Each serving contains 4g l-glutamine.

BCAAs in 2:1:1 proportion

The 3 essential amino acids L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine play a key role in muscle growth and recovery after the workout, because they activate protein synthesis. BCAAs play an important role in maintaining muscle mass and in optimizing the glycogen stores in the muscles. BCAA supplementation improves performance in endurance athletes when it’s combined with citrulline malate.⁽¹³⁾⁽¹⁴⁾ Each serving contains 7g and this strategic BCAA intake helps you accelerate recovery after power and endurance training and to have less muscle stiffness.⁽¹⁵⁾

Vitamin Complex: Vitamin B3, B6, B12 & C⁽¹⁶⁾⁽¹⁷⁽¹⁸⁾⁽¹⁹⁾⁽²º⁾⁽²¹⁾⁽²²⁾⁽²³⁾

Especially sportsmen and women need more of these water soluble vitamins. Vitamins are essential for a properly functioning body. According to research, there is a connection between vitamin B and sports performance. Vitamins B are used by the body to convert proteins and carbohydrates into energy. They are also essential for muscle recovery and cell production (muscle cells). Researchers at the Oregon State University discovered that athletes who have a vitamin B deficit perform worse, and their muscle recovery and growth goes slower than those of athletes who take enough vitamin B. Vitamin C is also a water soluble and essential in tissue growth and recovery. Furthermore, vitamin C is an anti-oxidant: it can block damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals can arise during intense workouts.
